    PROVISIONING OF WATER
    The water supply of the Port of Recife is provided by the State Utility Company.At the Port it is stored in five reservoirs with total capacity of 2,300 cubic meters. The supply of the ships is accomplished through hydrants, with outlets of 2,5 ", distributed as follows:

    • Berths 00 and 01, also from 07 through 14: there are 54 outlets placed at every 30m.
    • Berths from 02 through 06: there are 17 outlets placed at every 50m.

    FIRE FIGHTING
    The fire fight system is located between berths no. 02 and 06 and comprises 18 hydrants placed along the quay and at the neighbouring patios.

    ELECTRIC ENERGY
    The electric energy is provided by Utility (CELPE), and is distributted as follows:

    • Tension of entrance of 13,8KV
    • Substations(eight), for alternated current of 220V (light), 380V (force) and 440V(triphase outlets for gantry cranes).
    • Outlets for supply of electric energy for ships, placed every 50m within the area from berth 02 to berth 06.
    • Two mobile transformers , with mediators in conditions of supplying 220V / 380V / 440V (triphase), for other locations along the dock.

    SUPPLYING OF VESSELS
    The supply of fuel oil to ships is made through 16 outlets placed every 60m starting at berth 02 until berth 06. With a flow of 150 cubic meters/hour.

    GARBAGE COLLECTION
    The Port of Recife has eight Dump Trucks equipped with brooks, with a capacity of 4,5 cubic meters each, for collecting garbage through truck equipped with " Brooks ", and 15 other Dump Trucks, with capacity of 1,2 cubic meters each, for collecting garbage of ships by contract with the Utility - EMLURB.

    MOORING
    Priorities are established in accordance with rules for Exploration of the Port of Recife.

    MANEUVERS
    Mandatory pilotage is required starting from breakwater "Banco Inglês" and is performed by "Associação dos Práticos do Estado de Pernambuco".

    SALVAGE
    The salvage works of merchant ships as well as those of the Navy are in charge of the Harbour Master for the State of Pernambuco.

    PILOTAGE
    It is mandatory and starts at the breakwater Banco Inglês. It is provided by the Associação dos Práticos do Estado de Pernambuco (Phone no.: (081) 224-1104).

    RADIO OPERATOR
    The Coastal Station of Olinda (PPO) operates in the channels 16 and 23 through 27.
