The Cruise Season 2017-2018 ends in Recife

The last ship of the 2017/2018 cruise season docked at the Port of Recife earlier this month (03). The Seven Seas Navigator brought about 800 people, including passengers and crew, to Spain. The 170-foot-long luxury ship and all oceanfront suites have been heavily reported on major local print vehicles.

Over eight months, the capital of Pernambuco received 17 vessels from the tourism sector. Most of them were on international voyages to Europe, Africa or neighboring countries to Brazil, in South America. The more than 25 thousand passengers that circulated for the 2017/2018 Season - started on October 26 of last year - disembarked at the Port of Recife, usually on a transit trip.

Throughout the period of tourist movement a special scheme was set up at the Maritime Passenger Terminal to receive visitors. Empetur, CTTU, Firemen and the animation of bands of frevo and passistas composed the scene. The Port of Recife already has experience in receiving cruises, but this last season the flow decreased, being 10% smaller in relation to the previous season.
