Commercial Director of Gulftainer Company Limited visited the Port of Recife

The Commercial Director of Gulftainer, Iain Rawlinson, met the Port of Recife. First time director in Brazil. The executive pointed out at the meeting, in jest, "who have not yet mastered the Portuguese." The informal visit aimed to strengthen relations between the matrix and the subsidiary located in Porto. The meeting was attended by the CEO of the Port of Recife, Olavo de Andrade Lima, with the Commercial Director and harbor operations, Carlos Vilar, with Emerson Buarque, Managing Director of Gulftainer Brazil and Marcelo Graneiros, Corporate Sales Manager. At the end of the meeting, Olavo reaffirmed the importance of this meeting as "the home of the Gulftainer Brazil is the Port of Recife."

 

 

The Gulftainer History

Gulftainer Company Limited was founded in 1976 in the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates Unidos.O primary role of the company is to manage and operate the container terminals Port Khalid and Khorfakkan on behalf of Sharjah Port Authority. Major shipping lines calling at these ports include United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), CMA-CGM, CSAV, Hanjin, Sea Consortium, China Shipping, Hapag Lloyd, APL (American President Lines), MAG Container Lines, Maersk Line, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and Ethiopian Shipping Line. Also within the UAE, the company started a 5-year contract in November 2009 to provide the international plastics company, Borouge with on-site logistics services at its plant in polyolefins in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. In Brazil, it was installed on May 2, 2011, with the aim of offering integrated logistics service. It is currently operating at the Port of Recife.
