Christmas without Hunger in Port of Recife

Every year in December, employees of the Port of Recife organize Christmas without Hunger. This solidarity movement is coordinated by Ednalda de Andrade, Business Manager, and aims to deliver food baskets to needy families in the conquest of Alto communities, Our Lady of Hope, Avocado Stream and Maharajas.

This year, the port collected 65 baskets and delivered them to two very important people in these communities, Father Isaac and Sister Socorro. A sister in his speech stressed thrilled, "I know I will not end hunger in the world, but that way we'll do our part."

The main objective of the project is to bring food to the table of the highest number of people in these communities, thus rescuing the Christmas spirit by an act of solidarity. Through this initiative, all participants collaborate to reduce the need for food at a time when we celebrate life.
