Recife Port Board attends reception on board the ship Kashima

Training of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force docked yesterday, 28.07, at
Pier 02, the port of Recife. The ships will berth in Pernambuco until July 31.
The joint activities between the navies of Brazil and Japan mark the 120 anniversary
of the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation between the two countries.
Training ships "KASHIMA" and "SHIMAYUKI" and the
escort ship "YAMAGIRI" part of the landscape of our Port.
Last night, the president of the Port of Recife, Olavo de
Andrade Lima, the Administrative and Financial Officer, Hélio Leite and the
Chief of Staff of the Presidency, Manuela Leimig, attended a warm welcome at
Kashima ship. The pulp of the ship was decorated in Japanese style, the evening
was watered by Nipponese wonders. In the cocktail offered by the ship's captain
and the Japanese ambassador, a bit of everything, sushi, sweets, sake, Japanese
beer and of course the friendliness and joy of our friends from Asia. The
traditional ceremonial sake barrel breaking was held by the Pernambuco
personalities who were present at the reception.
Until July 31, they are scheduled several activities in
Recife. See some programs open to the public.
